Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University invites applicants with expertise in public relations for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor.

The successful candidate is expected to build a nationally and/or internationally visible research program; to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations including, but not limited to, principles, writing, research, campaigns, and courses related to their expertise; to provide service to the institution; and to advise students.

Required Education and Experience

- A Ph.D. in mass communication or related discipline.

Preferred Education and Experience

- Professional experience in a related field.
- Record of peer-reviewed scholarship/publication.
- Demonstrated teaching experience.

Department/Program & College Description

Founded in 1905, the Greenlee School has been continuously accredited since 1948 by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC), and was recently CEPR-accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for its public relations major. The school has undergraduate majors in journalism and mass communication, advertising, and public relations with approximately 750 students and a strong master’s program.
