Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, which is organized within the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business and ISU Economic Development to serve a campus-wide student audience at Iowa State University as well as community entrepreneurs, is seeking an individual to fulfill a newly created position to help the organization develop and deliver entrepreneurship programming, provide business coaching, recruit and prep student entrepreneurs for competitions, and help plan and execute program events. Additional responsibilities will include public speaking, leading workshops, and partnering with academic departments to deliver experiential learning opportunities for students.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, including public speaking and business assistance expertise or personal experience with entrepreneurship. Individual with entrepreneurship coursework, participation in an entrepreneurship program, or small business experience desired. The successful candidate will also have strong leadership ability, and will be comfortable communicating to diverse audiences.

The duties of this position require travel to various businesses or events in Iowa and occasionally outside of Iowa.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 8 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Additional Information

Primary office location is in Ames at the ISU Research Park, however programming will take place at various campus locations and occasionally in other communities across the state.
