Work Hours are a two week rotation as follows:

Week 1: Sunday 1 pm – 9:30 pm, Monday 12 pm – 8:30 pm, Tuesday OFF, Wednesday – Thursday 12 pm – 8:30 pm, Friday 1 pm – 9:30 pm, Saturday OFF;

Week 2: Sunday OFF, Monday – Wednesday 12 pm – 8:30 pm, Thursday OFF, Friday – Saturday 1 pm – 9:30 pm

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Iowa State University Dining is seeking applications for a Cook I in Seasons Marketplace. This position prepares recipes and serves food in a display cooking environment with predetermined standards of quality and quantity. The cook assists with directing the activities of student employees.

The duties of this position requires the ability to lift/push/pull cases of food and bags of produce weighing up to 50 pounds; stand the entire work time excluding breaks; work cooperatively as a team member in a team-oriented environment; train and work cooperatively with student staff; serve students, faculty, staff and university guests in a hospitable, customer-oriented manner; and perform basic math skills in order to complete such tasks as converting pounds and ounces to their decimal equivalents, calculating the number of portions prepared and served for record-keeping and estimating quantities of ingredients needed for recipe preparation.

Additional Information

ISU Dining will set the employment dates for this position on an annual basis based on the university calendar and the needs of the unit. Employees will receive their employment dates for the upcoming fiscal year at a minimum of three months in advance. Non-employment dates may be scheduled at any time during the year; however, typically they surround academic break periods and summer sessions.
