Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking applications for a newly created Executive and Professional Graduate Program Assistant to assist the college with establishing and growing the newly approved Executive MBA degree, and other professional graduate degree programs.

Duties include: planning and negotiating services to support executive graduate degree program classes and events on campus and at off-campus venues; arranging all logistics for study trips and other off-site class-based activities including company visits and receptions. The Executive and Professional Graduate Program Assistant will process all documentation required for student applications, admissions, graduation, and meeting Graduate College requirements. They will also track and report required learning outcomes, and monitor tuition billing and payments. The assistant will interface with graduate programs marketing staff to help promote the program.

The successful candidate must be able to make sound decisions, maintain confidentiality, and possess effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. The candidate will also have strong organizational skills; the desire to continuously learn and willingness to take initiative; ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and effectively exercise independent judgment; and consistently project a friendly and professional demeanor and have an appreciation for diversity and inclusion that includes constituents from a variety of cultural and international backgrounds.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 5 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Additional Information

Primary office location will be out of central campus in Ames Iowa, however frequent travel to the Des Moines metro will be required.
