Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Iowa State University’s Student Counseling Service is seeking applicants for a generalist Staff Psychologist position which will provide a variety of services including individual, group, career, and couples counseling; crisis intervention; outreach and consultation; and eating disorder assessments. Other duties will include supervision of practicum students and interns (APA accredited internship) and administrative tasks as designated.

The successful candidate will possess strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. or other professional degree and 1 year of related experience.

Supplemental Required Education and Experience

Candidates must graduate from an American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited academic doctoral program or certified equivalent in counseling or clinical psychology.

Experience must be providing clinical services and may include a doctoral internship.

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience providing counseling services at a university counseling center.

Experience providing clinical supervision.

Experience facilitating process groups and workshops.

Experience providing assessment, triage, and crisis management.

Experience providing outreach and consultation services.

Experience working with a diverse client population.
