Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University seeks applicants for a Systems Control Technician who will apply knowledge and skills to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair complex electronic building control systems. Duties include locating problems by monitoring systems, interpreting computer readings and conducting performance tests; monitoring systems through manipulation of software; and service as technical consultant in the area of computer controlled systems. The duties of this position require: ability to lift up to 50 pounds; manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination in order to perform variety of repairs in confined spaces; physical agility to climb ladders; and eye/hand coordination.

Required Qualifications

Six years of experience in the electrical and control trade, including apprenticeship or graduation from a two-year resident instrumentation and controls program.
